KinetIQ Sports Performance Counseling
Q: Is this covered by my insurance?
A: No. KinetIQ Sports Performance Counseling operates as a specialized performance service and is self-pay only. This allows us to focus entirely on performance enhancement without insurance restrictions.
Q: What's the difference between this and regular counseling?
A: While I'm a licensed mental health counselor, this service focuses specifically on athletic performance optimization rather than mental health treatment. We're building mental skills for competitive excellence.
Q: Do you only work with elite athletes?
A: No! I work with athletes at all levels who are committed to improving their mental game—from high school competitors to professionals.
Q: How long do athletes typically work with you?
A: It varies. Some athletes work with me to gain specific solution focused skills over a brief time frame, some work with me for a few months to address specific challenges, and others maintain ongoing relationships throughout their competitive seasons.
Q: Can you help with specific sports?
A: Yes! With 9 years of coaching soccer, softball, and basketball, I have deep expertise in those sports. However, mental performance principles apply across all athletic endeavors, and I work with athletes from many different sports.
Q: How long do appointments last and what does it cost?
A: Standard sessions are 55 minutes long and are $300 per session.
Q: Can we meet virtually? Do you provide online counseling?
A: We can currently conduct both in person and online sessions using a secure, HIPAA compliant online video therapy sessions.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: To ensure that each client is given the proper amount of time allotted for a session and to provide the highest quality care, it is very important arrive to their appointment on time or provide at least 24-hour notice if needing to cancel. Late cancellations or No-show appointments will be charged $120.00 for each occurrence, unless there is a valid reason. A credit, debit, or HSA/FSA card is required to be on file prior to the first session and throughout the client's time engaging in services. With the client's authorization, the card will be charged following each session.
Q: What if I'm not sure if I need this?
A: Schedule a consultation. We'll discuss your goals and challenges, and I'll help you determine if sports performance counseling is right for you.
